Progressive Web Apps are a new way to deliver amazing User experiences on the web. The PWA UX has the reach of the web, and are reliable, fast, and engaging.
They work online and off, and respond quickly to user interactions with silky smooth animations and no janky scrolling.
Join us to learn how to make applications that feel like a natural app on the device, with an immersive user experience. We'll look at how this new level of quality allows Progressive Web Apps to earn a place on the user's home screen.
Writing web applications that are resilient to network failures is challenging, but it's becoming increasingly relevant as people expect more from the web.
Many people turn to purpose-built database technologies and protocols to solve this problem, others don't have the luxury to switch databases or may not want to risk their business on newer and less battle-tested technologies, and others still may already have an API they need to integrate with.
In his talk Dylan will first introduce the basics of Redux, then show you a different approach to offline first applications that fit into Redux based applications and is database agnostic.
Get your apps—whether they're of the Progressive Web variety, or not—fighting fit with Preact,
Preact is the 3kB alternative to React with the same ES6 API
In this talk Zouhir will highlight the real meaning of PWA and at what point your Web app becomes a PWA.
We won't be trying to kill native apps and replace them with a pure Web experience, because we can't (he'll explain why), but we will highlight what the Web is capable of doing now, but that we are yet to see in so many Websites. And we should see what the Web can offer!
Zouhir will also look at Web performance, offline-first, and at creating more engaging mobile experience with Web Notifications and the Payment Request API.
And if that weren't enough, we'll look at how much value recent adopters are driving to their applications!
